To me, there are just SO many tells that this is AI?

Beyond the image...it cuts out every 8 seconds and comes back with a slightly different voice 😂

Google’s Gemini 3 Flash is a beast. It’s outperforming Gemini 2.5 Pro across the board and even beating Gemini 3 Pro on ARC-AGI-2 & SWE-Bench Verified.

We’re at the point where distilled models (3x-4x smaller) are beating the “frontier” models of just 6 months ago.

This trajectory makes the future of powerful on-device AI inevitable. Your move, Apple.

The distillation paper was rejected from NeurIPS 2014 because it was “unlikely to have significant impact”. Humans have hallucinations too.

One of the underdiscussed parts of Jacob Savage’s essay is the work and creative outlets that many millennial men did find, particularly in pockets of tech and online: substack, crypto, podcasting.
I’d add retail investing to that list. The author himself sits at his desk and scalps tickets to support his kids. Online pseudonymous work that pays the bills.

I can’t help but notice that these pockets of the internet are the parts of the tech industry that are demonized the most. “We don’t need another podcast.” “Influencer and AI slop.” “All these guys at home in their basements online.” “Anons on X.”

The behaviors that are most demonized require the least amount of capital to get started and zero network, and yet these are the only refuges discussed because they were new. There were no gatekeepers.

Pseudonymous online worlds are still being demonized. We need to be far more skeptical when we hear high priests moralizing about these pockets of the internet or trying to take away the protection pseudonymity affords. It was a life boat for many, and will continue to be a refuge.

All the moralizing that building only matters if you’re doing something in the physical world or doing something “hard” or “approved” by gatekeepers and high priests of all types — that narrative has never resonated with me, and with good reason. When you’re attached to your name and your body you can be destroyed. When no one knows who you are on the internet— you can build without retribution, and that might be your only option. This is why building in and of itself should be viewed as noble and good. Building is a political philosophy. Ignore the high priests who tell you the new or the weird or the pseudonymous is bad— there’s a reason they don’t want you even entertaining it, and it might not become obvious for a generation.

Congrats Pieter Abbeel @pabbeel - Amazon's new AGI Head.

TPOT needs no introduction to him. He is a pioneer in Robotics and DeepRL. Has 231K citations.

He is Prof UC Berkeley; has been an Amazon Distinguished Scientist / VP / Scholar since 2024 focussed on Advancing AI and Robotics.

He has advised legendary doctoral students like Chelsea Finn (@chelseabfinn) of Physical Intelligence and John Schulman (@johnschulman2) - ex OpenAI, ex Anthropic and now co-founder of Thinking Machines.

Looking forward.
