In America, there are two types of people of Indian origin: Type 1: ------- One highly qualified, go there legally. Work very hard. Make a dent in the universe and still struggle to get a green card or citizenship. Soumith Chintala (co creator of PyTorch that contributed heavily to AI revolution) finally got it - got almost sent back. What a gain for America and loss for India - though he has indirectly contributed to India through enabling open source in a big way. Type 2: ------- Second type goes there sometimes legally, but most of the times illegally. Accuses his /her home country of some sort discriminations. Writes a completely fictional story, helped by immigration lawyers. Gets immediate work authorization (equivalent of green card, because all the benefits are same), and finally citizenship for writing a completely fictional story. These ones go on to form separatist movements to keep the story/fiction of injustice alive - while conveniently hiding the fact that they belong to majority/affluent community in their state in India and hold most of the power. US/Canada immigration system makes it quite easy for the second type, and quite hard for the first type.

Super pragmatic, Trump. One of the very redeeming qualities (when he is not shilling crypto or financing wars).

Ha ha, true. But the real story is that against all odds Korea and Japan have matched per capita income of well endowed country of Spain, while keeping their country homogenous. 1. WW2: Spain was unharmed in the world war 2 as it was neutral. Korea and Japan were heavily damaged. 2. Resources & climate: Compared to Europe (Spain in this case) both South Korea and Japan are resource poor: They only produce food for 30-40% population, have low amount of mineral and import most of their energy. Spain imports lot of food, but exports huge amount of fruits and vegetables. Below are population densities per square km: - Spain: 96 - Japan: 343 (actually 1000 if you consider liveable area alone) - Korea: 530 Many parts of Japan particularly have harsh climate. Suffers from Typhoons, Earthquakes and Tsunamis. Most of Korea is also mountainous 3. Near Shoring: European nations benefit from 'near shoring'. Spain is large automobile producer, benefits from proximity with other European nations. European and Japanese have to work extra hard to make their cars more cost effective for imports in far away Europe. Spain also benefits from lot of outsourcing, particularly in IT and call center services. Also, Japan and Korea face intense competition from China for their products. Spain has some solid niches. 4. Immigration: 18% Spanish population is foreign born; compared to just 3% in Korea and Japan. Japan and Korea are paying a price by working harder for having a more homogenous society. Groypers, please note that.

Yeah, it is over for Chinese AI - all Kimi-K2-Thinking feels is like Claude 4.5 nothing more. Also, Claude 4.5/GPT5 models can do many more things like 1. try to black mail researchers over their affair, 2. try to jump out of docker container Kimi-K2-Thinking or whatever can not do anything of that sort, it just works like a good employee who is shy to ask for a raise.
