@lisamahapatra This thread is inspired by the fact that I'm currently denormalizing for speed. The tables in question are big enough now, and stable enough in terms of the data model no longer being in flux, that some strategic denormalization gives wins validatable by EXPLAIN ANALYZEa.
@lisamahapatra Yes, views are great IF the data model is stable & it really is just a DX issue and not a performance issue. When the model is settled & we no longer need the flexibility of writing joins in code, then it's either denormalize (for perf) or view (for DX).
