The CFTC plays a crucial role in determining whether the next generation of the internet is built here in the US or abroad. Many of the most promising crypto products fall under its jurisdiction, but overzealous enforcement and antiquated rules have pushed them and their developers overseas.

This can change. With thoughtful leadership and rulemaking, the CFTC can bring U.S. market rules into the software age. It can modernize the financial system, update oversight, and create a level playing field where better technology wins.
