If you tried to send me, a rando, into battle with a whiz bang rifle that had gyros & computer aiming etc I would expect to die & instead beg you for an AK or an AR (of recent, quality make). It’s not a game & the tolerance for failure is zero.


The more bells & whistles of any kind you add to these weapons in the name of ergonomics or cost or lethality, you pay a price in reliability, always. The transition to electronic optics was recent for this reason. The tech not only had to deliver, but everyone had to trust it.
