Authors going into book stores to sign their books is one of the most amazing things. Just love to see it. It’s a sweet surprise for an unsuspecting reader. It’s great marketing for the author, the store, and the publisher.

The ultimate win-win-win.

I seek these. Always.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the borg's patience will run out at some point, but for now, the humans infected with the virus are like a collective version of Claude

one thing I like about Pluribus (and that I doubt was intentional, given Gilligan's statements about AI) is that the human...borg? is very LLM-like: expansive knowledge covering every human alive, combined with (seemingly) unlimited patience and compassion

OpenAI is actually competing with everyone:

- Meta: Sora
- Microsoft: AI-native productivity suite
- Nvidia: OpenAI’s own GPU chips
- Apple: OpenAI acquired Jony Ive to build consumer hardware
- Google: OpenAI already pulling users from search; use Atlas to replace Chrome.

i don’t think there’s any politically acceptable way to address this because people are concerned about their parents in particular even when they know this extraction is monstrous in general.

the only way out is massive economic growth without new subsidy of the old.
