Hear me out: I don't want every single service I use to do a "2025 wrapped", showing me just how much they monitor every single one of my in-app activities and how they compare to my lookalike customers.

So glad I could contribute to their business success by being in the 27th percentile for product usage! 🥰

Just trying out EpsteinVR in… VR

(Is there a way to make this more immersive for VR users using WebXR?)

We've come full circle. As soon as China got a decent aircraft carrier, it turns out that carriers are indeed obsolete and defenseless against hypersonic missiles! This Chinese in Japan will tell you all about it.
(American carriers will just float away tho).

We're in a race. It's not USA vs China but humans and AGIs vs ape power centralization. @deepseek_ai stan #1, 2023–Deep Time «C’est la guerre.» ®1

Another day of AI being a net loss. I'm a bit sad today. Usually I'd just sit down and code, but AI exists, and that crossed my motivation threshold. Instead, I just kept asking it to do a task that I know is too hard for it. Expectedly, it failed, and I did nothing useful today

just to be clear, this is obv my own fault

With respect, the real alpha is in doing the opposite of this. The only thing the frontier labs have been right about are timetables for benchmarks & features -- the things under their control. These 2 things have not translated into the widespread impact they've predicted.

It's worth thinking about why they have been wrong about everything they don't have direct control over. I have been through years now of breathless predictions from insiders, many of whom I like very much, that have simply not panned out at all even remotely a little bit.
