Here's another fascinating, sprawling conversation I had recently with Claude where I learned all about the aftermath of the Norman conquest and the so-called "Harrying of the North," something I had never really thought much about (most accounts of the conquest are focused on the Battle of Hastings and not on the brutal suppression of the subsequent uprisings).

I really try to have an engaging conversation with it as if I were speaking to a real historian rather than use it like a search engine, getting into all sort of details like the inner thought process of William and how he may have justified his actions which led to the awful deaths of 100k+ people:

Nano Banana Pro Prompt:

Put the photo into a vintage Nokia phone

Based on the attached photo, display the image inside the screen interface of a vintage mobile phone with specific transformations.

A candid, slightly angled close-up shot of a vintage Nokia mobile phone (classic bar style, e.g., 6610 or similar color-screen era model) held casually diagonally across the frame. The low-resolution, illuminated LCD screen dominates the composition, filling most of the view. The surrounding sturdy plastic casing and only the very top section of the physical T9 keypad/navigation buttons are partially visible and cropped off at the edges.

The pixelated screen displays a live camera preview interface.

The Photo Content:The subject from the attached photo is transformed, now wearing distinct millennium Y2K pop fashion (e.g., shiny metallic fabrics, velour, rhinestone details, or layered mesh). The entire scene is rendered with heavy early camera-phone aesthetics: distinct pixelation grid, limited washed-out color palette, and compression artifacts.

The Retro UI Overlay: Overlaying the photo view are low-pixel, monochrome Nokia user interface elements. At the very top edge of the screen, pixelated signal strength bars (left), the text "Camera" (center), and a blocky battery icon (right). At the bottom corners of the screen, blocky pixel-font soft-key labels read "Options" on the left and "Back" on the right.

The screen glows with a characteristic greenish-blue LCD backlight tint. The mood is nostalgic, interactive, and authentically lo-fi tech.
Scale ratio: 4:5 vertical

Camera: Macro shot of a vintage mobile phone screen, handheld perspective

Screen Simulation: Early CSTN/TFT LCD, visible pixel grid, greenish tint.
UI Elements: Retro low-res monochrome pixel icons and blocky text overlays.
Transformation: Replace subject's clothing with Y2K millennium pop fashion.
Color grading: Desaturated cool tones, digital noise, dithering artifacts, screen glow.

Claude Opus 4.5 is such an incredible resource for learning about history in an engaging, interactive way. It’s just way more fun and active than simply reading Wikipedia articles or most books, and I end up doing more of it and retaining the information a lot better.

The fact that it responds very quickly even when using thinking mode makes it way more interactive than GPT-5 Pro, which is critical in this use case; otherwise I get bored and distracted waiting so long for a response.

This lag isn’t a problem when I only care about getting the best, most correct answer, such as when I’m planning out a complex software project.

But when I’m asking about historical parallels between Spain in 711 and England in 1066 as shown in these screenshots, I don’t want to wait for 10 minutes each time.

It’s really like having a team of professional historians on call for free 24/7 (I say free because I would already be paying for my Claude Max accounts for coding stuff anyway).

I say team because history is quite specialized, and people tend to focus on a particular region and time, and thus are ill-equipped to opine in a deeply informed way about these sorts of “contrastive” questions, which I find deeply helpful when trying to form mental models of history.

Anyway, I can’t recommend it highly enough.
