Google’s v8 TPU is being split between Broadcom and MediaTek - the training wheels are coming off. Google will have every stage in house (other than the manufacturing) by end of decade and will see relative uplift compared to NVIDIA w/ AlphaChip/superior RL chip design.
Google’s v7 TPUs are dramatically cheaper (35-60%) than NVIDIA’s equivalents in terms of total cost of ownership. The Anthropic and Meta deals have a clear basis at this point. NVIDIA’s “monopoly” is ending.
