I’ve spent a lot of time studying Hollywood and concluded that it’s screwed without AI. Movies have become so expensive to produce for a number of reasons (e.g. inflations, unions / guilds, marketing). You need a huge hit to pay back the cost - hence the endless Avenger movies.
I’ve pulled a bunch of data on this (cost and # of movies over time) - can share if folks are interested! TL;DR - we need a big structural change reducing costs to make the movie business profitable + enable indie films. IMO, using AI in production is the clearest shot here.
