If someone is telling you that DeepSeek showed how you can work smarter, not harder with more efficient models, ergo we don't need as much electricity for AI, then please send them this link. Everyone who actually knows basics about AI knows this take is wrong.

I have seen so many people repeating the extremely wrong takes on datacenter AI usage that are downstream of the extremely wrong takes on DeepSeek from a while back, that I have unpaywalled this explainer: https://t.co/3UejmSpANv

“Model registration”

Imagine a world where every photoshopped image had to be declared to an administration.

There is so much distrust nowadays… If cars would have been invented right now, we would never trust the average person to drive them.

Isaiah is a real one. If I had to place a bet on who will *actually* split an atom by next year, it'd be these guys.

$5000/month could certainly be near minimum wage, and many startup founders will make less than minimum wage (lose money working long hours) for years before being able to bring home $5,000 per month in personal income.

example: minimum hourly wage where i am is $17.60 /hour (CAD)

i worked 50-60 hours+ per week for last 5 years. first 2.5 years without personal pay (mcdonalds savings ftw)

60 x 4 weeks = 240 hours a month

$5000 (pretax) / 240 hours = $20.8 hourly wage, so making 18% more than minimum wage (quite close)

Yes $5000/month is not bad by any means, but minimum wage where i am is based on hourly rate, so you can max out close to $5000/month on minimum wage (not fun, but possible)
