What few understand is that the CPC Dynasty, at this stage, is the finishing phase of *every* Chinese Dynasty, not in some abstract sense but in that they literally complete all of their projects and fix all errors, and while previous dynasties also tried that, they are adding lessons of foreign regimes as well. They are completing the project of Chinese civilization as such. Xi is a legalist purging corruption and ruling by Techniques that Han Feizi and Shang Yang of Qin would endorse, his ministers are technocrats rather than poets. But the state is not in permanent mobilization, the gaokao selection is more or less a modern Imperial Exam, the KPIs are diverse and allowing for human flourishing, so he does not breed mass resentment. They solved the Steppe Problem both by crushing force (as Han) and by Universal Empire post-Han civic nationalism (as Qing), and are finishing the integration of ethnicities into a sinicized Mandarin-speaking blob. Now nobody is a barbarian. The CPC has completed the Land Reform multiple emperors attempted. They have eliminated military independence, avoiding errors of Tang, but did not weaken the force like the Song, and have a massive standing army and fleet even Ming couldn't dream of, plus global maritime trade and cultural exchange the Wuyue would endorse, all while maintaining a Northern Dynasty style central discipline. The party commands the gun, and the gun is big indeed. They have learned the tools of barbarians to outpace the barbarians in industry and science. They can afford infrastructure spending and hydraulic management on a scale that dwarfs the Grand Canal, on a scale that goes beyond China proper with BRI. The succession problem of all previous dynasties is in theory solved by the fractal performance legitimacy, every new Chairman earning his claim to the Mandate at increasingly higher level of governance. They do not intend to go rigid, collapse economically and surrender ideologically like the Soviet Empire. They are avoiding financialization and deindustrialization like the American one. This is not an exhaustive list. They seriously intend to build an End of History state here. And only Avengers Assembling can stop the capeshit that is inevitable…
