maybe i’m coping but the idea that a hard paywall in a mobile app is the best way to filter out who will pay and who will not isn’t always a good thing yes if you make people pay to use any of the app of course you will make more money on a % base of your user base but what about the ways non paying users can bring you money? if your app is really good and helpful and you find a good medium to help and then also enable more help through a premium subscription then you could have your own distribution engine baked in, and that is SUPER exciting to me! letting people use something that is actually really fun and helpful for free can bring in more customers for free, so 1 downloads turns into 5, and 2% conversion then is the same as 10% of course this doesn’t apply to all apps, and that’s the same for “hard paywall only”. no it’s not a life hack to feature gate your entire app behind a paywall. i think this is more applicable to saas and offering free trials but anyhow: there is no one size fits all! test and decide for yourself, always ❤️
cause maybe for your app a freemium mode will do 10x better and your app is amazing so its grows like wild through word of mouth .. maybe!
