I think GPT-5.2 is a minor toposophic step, like Sonnet 3.5. not hype. This will likely be commoditized in weeks-months again. What I mean practically is that I can’t hope to get the *peak insight* of this model from any other with reasonable budget. It’s refreshing.
I like it because otherwise the struggle would seem hollow. GPT-5/5.1 clearly were more or less DS-V3.1, only with more compute, early mover advantage, multimodality and poorer cost discipline. What is there to exceed? A GPU pile? This, this is actually a big research problem.
