This is just the beginning. This kind of stuff will find huge bipartisan support. Companies that replace human employees with AI or robots and which do big layoffs (or even reduce hiring sharply) despite growing revenues/profits will be taxed or penalized for it very harshly.
Of course, this won’t actually stop these economic forces from propagating. Because there will be new breeds of startup companies that never had the human employees in the first place, and they’ll be able to undercut dramatically on pricing or offer far better price-performance.
