Reading that Cornell received so much of this type of funding made me sad. The primary reason is because several years ago I offered to support freshman writing students learning to use AI effectively (the same exact way my freshman experience included learning to use a word processor for writing). I was told flat out "we do not allow donors to influence the classroom" and was turned away.
