@lithos_graphein Also not clear how making a FEL EUV machine will thwart anything in China. the US already can buy ASML machines. Wafer production is unlikely to grow soon. If anything it'll accelerate Chyna because they've been doing this forever but lacked confidence
@lithos_graphein On the other hand: it can indeed thwart Chyna (to an extent) by convincing them to misallocate funds to this dead end. maybe they *do* know something special, namely: FEL EUV *definitely* does NOT work at scale In this model, investment would be part of a psyop @StevenGlinert

The successes and failures of AI companies as they explore different product categories are a good reminder that the hard part of software isn't writing code, it's things like product-market fit. The latest debate is about AI browsers. Anil Dash is witheringly critical and insightful, and frames Atlas as an "anti web browser" https://t.co/lM19pinF7K @simonw writes: "I continue to find this entire category of browser agents deeply confusing. The security and privacy risks involved here still feel insurmountably high to me - I certainly won't be trusting any of these products until a bunch of security researchers have given them a very thorough beating." He explains the security risks here: https://t.co/BxqR4reQSM OpenAI and others were no doubt able to speed up their software development using their fancy models, but of course these models don't have the wisdom to question whether the product category even makes sense. The exercise of this kind of judgment remains deeply human.
