it’s wild to think how bloody this country used to be. a century ago, coal miners were getting gunned-down in company towns and the national guard & pinkertons were torching tent cities full of families. fast-forward to 2020: tens of millions of people flooded the streets for BLM — the biggest protest movement in US history — w/ cities on fire, glass raining down, sirens all night… and only a few dozen deaths. pretty much all looters or random chaos on the edges. the past is a different country.
