we've all listened to the Updates theme from Unsolved Mysteries and had the thought "this would work well as like a bebop jazz piano thing" and I finally got around to making it

At first we built the digital copies of ourselves as answering machines, representing us during our sleep. Too late did we realize that most of us would strangle the sleeping threat of being replaced, and that we are smart enough to coordinate

An underhyped use case for vibe coding is "ephemeral software."

These are apps you spin up quickly and use for a short period of time.

They can be incredibly useful. But the economics didn't make sense before AI when everything was hand-coded.

A few I've made recently 👇

1) Christmas gift tracker - I ALWAYS forget what I've ordered my friends and family members. Now I have a place to track what I bought each person, how much I've spent, and where / when each item should be delivered.

 2) Disneyland food guide - took a family trip after Thanksgiving. We always have wish lists of food we see on TikTok and want to try, but never remember them when we're there. My app organized all this, classified items by meal type, and let us "mark as eaten" 😂

3) Theme park design generator - while in ride lines, we thought it would be fun to see what "lands" would look like for different movies. Nano Banana Pro would visualize the environment, rides, and snacks for us.

4) NeurIPS schedule - I had a bunch of talks and workshops I wanted to see at NeurIPS but they weren't formal meetings + didn't belong on my work calendar. I made an app to brain dump the times & locations of everything and organize a schedule.

I made all of these apps on @wabi - which is particularly useful because then I have them on my phone! And I can publish them for others to find and use.

Oh also - I forgot to mention, this is day #2 of something @omooretweets and I are trying out. For the next 25 days, we’ll be profiling a consumer AI app that we love (on alternating accounts). Follow along for more! Here’s yesterday’s post:
