Amazon has announced that starting January 20th, authors will be able to publish DRM-free Kindle books, which can be read on any device. However, this also means that piracy may increase. This new policy is optional; existing data will not be affected, and authors decide which books to publish. DRM-free EPUB or PDF versions can be read on any supported device, not just Kindle.
