I built Tatami to replace a European tool that I was using to run our compliance program at @Bento. I did this because they weren’t shipping features that I desperately needed. The tool was also clunky and slow. When I cancelled, they asked me to do an exit interview because they knew I was building a competitor. They told me, sternly, that I had a lot of work ahead of me building integrations with all the different providers. That it was hard to scale data and volume. That I couldn’t do it by myself. They were trying to intimidate me! The thing is I had already built all those integrations. On holiday. Working 1hr a day. And I already had customers for each integration paying real money. Many European founders maintain this constant low level of arrogance that holds them back from taking action. See it time and time again.
The most hilarious example of this is the European TPBN works 2 days a week instead of 5. Many such cases!
