Elon will win the AI race. It's over. I did the math. Space based datacenters cost *half* as much as terrestrial datacenters. (For SpaceX. Musk doesn't have to pay for someone else's high margin. And Musk will continue bringing down cost through scale.) (Natural gas datacenters have lower capex, and higher opex, but turbine production is heavily limited.) Note this only applies to inference. (For training faulty chips constantly have to be swapped out. So in space it might be much in the future. But RL data generation is done through inference. This might be the most computationally demanding part. Along of course with inference usage by the public.)
