Hundreds of thousands of people are working on AI, some out of purpose, some for profit, many for both but all striving to improve human life. The goal must be the same: the collective advancement of humanity. No one should be left behind. We don’t need to complain about disruption; we need to architect the next phase of human–computer interaction and its impact on society. The algorithmic reckoning is here. Governments must ensure that humans remain the ultimate beneficiaries. It’s time to define new metrics like a Human Impact Quotient (HIQ) to measure how each life is shaped by the rise of AI and how to compensate it. This is a serious matter that requires immediate attention.
