About half of LLM revenue/usage is coding, and it's most of what people care about wrt frontier safety. so yeah it's maybe not better at law or bioscience, but it is practically a frontier model.
Their incentives for improving coding capabilities are also incredibly well aligned, since focusing on codegen improvements directly improves the core product. Really interesting.
