okay funny thing here, a lot of people say that living with parents is quick way to end up a loser/slacker after you are 21 years old and i do agree to some extent, but like everything in life it *depends* it depends on WHO you are, WHY you do things, and WHERE you want to go. it depends on IF you're paying rent, IF you are contributing, or IF you are taking a full free ride. for me living in my mom's basement i did treat it like a "whatever happens ill always have a roof over my head" so maybe it made me take less risks, but it also let me sleep well while still taking some bolder risks. im not sure there is one way to do things, you can "make it" while living with your parents until 25 if thats what it takes, but for me i always knew that i would kill to make enough money on my own through my internet businesses, and i spent most days making it happen. in another world maybe i got to where i am faster by having my mom kick me out when i turned 21 or dropped out of college, but i wouldnt change my path even if i could. i got to $10,000/month through curiosity and fun and that's hard to beat for me. i will charge my kids rent after they are 21 likely too though, im glad my mom didnt let me stay for 100% free. she didnt charge me much ($500/month) and she bought all the groceries still, but there needs to be SOME pressure. I did well with my own autonomy however i know many would not, so as i said... should you live with your parents after you are 21 if you stand any chance to "make it"? IT DEPENDS. either way you can make it, but it's all on you.
