🇹🇷 Summary of the Turkish trolleybus case 🚎 I'm glad you're interested in the case of the Turkish trolleybuses that @ZdenekHrib bought for Prague through @DPPOficialni. Here's a short summary of what it's all about. I hope you enjoy reading before the weekend starts 🧵
The Prague city government has come under fire for purchasing 70 trolleybuses from Turkish manufacturer Bozankaya. The vehicles from this manufacturer are not homologated for European urban traffic and have faced problems in the past, for example in Belgrade, Teplice, Pardubice or České Budějovice, where they were excluded from tenders due to major technical or administrative shortcomings.
Deputy Zdeněk Hřib defends the choice of Bozankaya by saying that Czech manufacturers have repeatedly failed in the past, delivering non-functional electric buses, the hydrogen bus had to be shut down after several attempts, and Prague allegedly returned a European subsidy because of this. He attacks everyone around him, politicians, officials, journalists and people on social media who dare to criticize him. With his own arrogance, he accuses everyone of cooperating with Czech manufacturers. He simply did not understand what was going on here.
A Turkish manufacturer doesn't even produce a bicycle in the Czech Republic. They import everything here. The benefit to the Czech economy and the Czech people is zero. The few billion DPP saved is basically a loss for the Czech industry. This is not about some campaign in favor of Czech manufacturers, but about the national interest, which this traitor clearly doesn't understand. The atmosphere in the office is crazy, thanks to their manners. The pirates sue, report and accuse of corruption anyone who disagrees with them. They know just as little about democracy and the functioning of the office as people from the SPD, for example. In that, they are quite similar.
Those who disagree with Hřib and the pirates argue that all cars from Czech manufacturers are already running without any problems, subsidies have not been returned and key components are of European origin. While Bozankaya has never previously implemented a similar order in the EU and the first prototype of its trolleybus arrived in Timişoara, Romania, only in June this year. But that's still not the main thing. What does such a ban mean for the Czech market, the Czech economy and the Czech industry? Almost nothing. Contributions and taxes for the lower dozens of employees of this Turkish company in the Czech Republic.
By the way, it's not difficult to find one thing: if you want to supply an industrial product to Turkey today for a public tender, 51% of that product must be manufactured in Turkey. Do you understand that, @piratipraha, @JKomrskova, @adamzabransky and others?
At the same time, the Pirates do not understand that public money is being used to test a vehicle that does not meet the final specification, without any direct connection to passenger services and without prior inspection of the production plant. Hřib reacts with sharp criticism of traditional suppliers and speaks of attempts at monopoly, dysfunctional technologies and contracts with political influence, including allusions to criminally prosecuted persons. As a fact?
The whole case was started with his text by @Sima_Ondra. Šimíček calls Hřib's statements manipulation, reminds of the presumption of innocence and claims that Hřib abuses the Dosimetr case as a smokescreen every time he runs out of factual arguments. By the way, Dosimetr happened when he was mayor. A total flight of arguments from a person without self-reflection, but full of total arrogance and stupidity towards anyone who disagrees with him. https://t.co/uLhpcH3WDb
The whole case has thus grown beyond the framework of a technical decision on the public transport supplier and has become a clash of two worlds. On one side is the fight against the alleged Czech cartel, on the other hand, Czech interest and concern that Prague is testing unproven and potentially risky technologies with public money. What do you want?
