I remember back in those days in UI. During my post graduate days, I used to have this friend who was crazy in love. Her name was christabel. She was dating one guy who was doing his masters in one of those departments close to the PG school. I believe it's veterinary medicine.
His name was Korede. We all went to the library and hung out a lot especially at the cinemas and things were happening o; things that happened in darkness. let me not talk 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️. I had another friend whose name was Ronke. We were both choristers at the chapel.
So it happened that i was in her room and she wanted me to meet her boyfriend. As we went to the front of the PG hostel gate, it's like I wasn't seeing well. The guy standing right in front of me was Korede, Christabel's boo.
Korede acted normal but i couldn't shrug off the surprise because ah aaah, this is Korede nau. I was lost between telling the girls that Korede was playing them and minding my business. Korede had beat me to it and found a way of creating enmity between me and the girls.
I don't know what he told them but Ronke said I was a boyfriend snatcher where as Christabel had blocked me on all platforms. I gave my distance till we graduated. I was surprised to catch up with Christabel briefly sometime last month. Social media is something else.
Next thing I saw was that she added me to a group chat for her bridal train. Omo e shock me. I mean sis, I've not seen or heard from you since 2018. What's going on? 😂 It was then Christabel started telling me of her regrets.
Apparently, she later found out that Korede was cheating and she forgave him. Unfortunately, it became continuous to the extent he got another lady pregnant. She could not keep sharing her man with the community and things ended. Talk about He belonged to the streets 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️
I later found out that the girl he impregnated was Ronke's younger sister. I kuku minded my business. She told me she graduated with a PhD grade and was eligible for a number of scholarships. But Korede had told her to slow down on education so they get married.
Unbeknownst to her, Korede had continued to apply for scholarships. The moment he got it, he left without looking back and abandoned christabel. This happened in late 2020 according to her. She had since given up on pursuing her education.
As a graduate of Microbiology, she had little reasons to go back to school because Nigeria does not value the course. Even if she did, she had no funds for application fees, ielts and all that. It was then i told her to check out the page of @olumuyiwaayo.
Man's been writing to schools to waive IELTS and many schools have updated their requirements from Nigerian school. It was during the check for updates that we came across someone talking of one website where people apply for schools.
Everything is handled for free including the application process. They even review it for free. I'm still trying to find it because i need it for myself as well. Las las sha I won't make it for the wedding. Flight fees are too expensive. I really pray her home is a happy one.
