I've published a paper (my first!) on sound agglomerates, a compositional framework I developed as an alternative to chord symbols for improvised music. The idea: instead of writing "Cmaj7#11" and letting players default to familiar voicings, you specify the exact intervallic structure from the bottom up. Same pitches, but the voicing IS the composition.
