The related mystery is that all the providers are guilty of this. They all play these games with model IQ instead of doing dynamic, electricity-grid-style metering where you pay more during peak load. None them break from the pack here. So there's something big I'm missing.
Yeah the more I think about it the odder it is. Real-time metered electricity is the main industrial input, & real-time streaming tokens are the main output, so why is token billing fixed & not some real-time markup to electricity costs?
Honestly, I don't understand this either. This actually frustrates me, because I'd rather see them raise prices during peak hours than quantize the models down & drive model IQ to the floor when I need it most. Just meter it better, right? Can anyone shed light on this?

I heard this from both my customers and other Swift developers. It’s sad to see macOS getting worse. I don’t have a strong opinion on the Liquid Glass, but at least keep the OS stable. SwiftUI has too many bugs and at this point, Tauri might actually be a better choice.
