When the Seattle light rail started there was service every 8-12 minutes weekday/weekend and scheduled at specific minutes on the hour. It was printed at the station. 

Then it became irregular with a schedule on the web but meaningless. 

Now they have real time availability. Currently waiting 26 minutes for a train. 

2015 schedule as it slowed down (via archive).

Overall, open source was a very effective emergence strategy. Now that reputation is strong we see some reversal:
*Some labs (Zhipu) now raising "overseas".
*Releases becoming more tactical, avoiding large models (Ali Baba) or focusing on older parts of tech stack (DeepSeek-OCR)
