you are looking for two things when interviewing. competence, which can be discovered by repeatedly asking questions in greater and greater detail about previous work to determine what (if anything) someone actually did, and agency, which can be discovered by asking in increasing detail about how they figured out what to do.

people take spiritual meaning from psychedelic experiences only in cases where they're the most interesting thing they've ever done. you need contact with unmediated reality to avoid these kind of traps, and if you don't have that, you should not be doing these kinds of drugs.
