over the past few days i’ve been writing on the theme ‘why write’

here’s the final post in this series, and the most important.

5. write to feel

taste is your sense of what feels right. you build it by making things.

when you write, you have to make choices, and when you do, you start noticing the difference between what works, what doesn’t, and the delta between.

taste is judgment earned by doing…
it may be subjective, but it is not arbitrary.

now that ai can produce endlessly, discernment matters more than ever. ai can assist, but it cannot tell the difference between what’s human and what rings hollow.

your job now is to know when something is *just right*. your job is your taste, and your taste is the filter.

writing sharpens this sense. practice will never make perfect — there’s no such thing — but it will make style.

write to hone your taste. because in an age where anyone can generate infinite content, that’s the only thing that stands out.

writing is feeling.
