it's fascinating to see gains this huge 'so late' in the game because diminishing returns *have* to kick in at some point: we are running out of hours in the day for consumers to re-allocate to short-form video! (with that said, price per ad also is continuing to go up, so it's not strictly necessary for revenue growth) i suppose over the next decade there's a strong chance new modalities and profit models start to merge into these streams, since we are probably far from saturation as is (e.g. maybe advertising in an irl overlay with smart glasses is much more lucrative than instagram reels. who knows! you can try anything when you have the free cash flow of god). until then, long all short form video and gambling i suppose source: previous Meta earnings call, quoted image from Stratecherry https://t.co/2f0XCAtWPd
