Dualism was formalized by René Descarte. The mind is metaphysical, non-spatial, and immortal. Its essence is thought and consciousness. The body, conversely, is a physical, material entity that takes up space and operates like a machine, subject to the laws of physics.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a non-dominant AI lab like SSI or Yann LeCun’s new company is first to reach AGI. Innovation often comes from a few sharp minds, not from resource abundance. Innovation loves constraints.
