One of my darker suspicions is that India might be the only major country in history that legit got *brain drained*. Ie it both *had* a nontrivial amount of "brains", and those populations were removed to the tune of 50% or more already. I hope I'm wrong.
One reason to think so is that I've yet to see Indian data that shows even Brahmins scoring above European level in any cognitive scenario. But immigrants mog them. And *many* have very specific, hyper-elite descent like «Tamil Nadu Brahmin Iyer». Thin right tail. A few clans.
