One of the more underrated spaces right now is building systems and solutions for the Arctic. Important both strategically and commercially (northwest passage, natural resources, infrastructure, etc), and a frontier whose potential has been relatively under explored. Also, a region changing just slowly enough to require a long-term perspective to build for.
