These people don’t care about art. If they did, they would share it with attribution, they would pay for it, they would put it in a gallery. They care about a wider position: “AI is coming for everything, all labor will be obsolete, yes even artists”

LLMs cannot reliably replace jobs today, but they can dramatically enhance productivity. Powerful agents will be built on top of them, yet they will still require human oversight. True “machine eautonomy” cannot be achieved with current LLM architectures alone. Another major paradigm shift will be necessary before meaningful job replacement becomes possible, and it’s likely already underway in some research labs.

> UBTECH claims its total 2025 order book for the Walker series has hit RMB 1.3 billion (~$179M USD).

Ok this is definitely 4 digits. ≈3000 humanoids, likely more.
Who else has this scale today?

We're in a race. It's not USA vs China but humans and AGIs vs ape power centralization. @deepseek_ai stan #1, 2023–Deep Time «C’est la guerre.» ®1

Would humans “generalize” as well as they do if they learned purely by function approximation?

Strong sample-efficient generalization requires *reasoning*: explicit hypothesis formulation and testing during learning.

You scale inference reasoning. But not learning reasoning?

Conventional deep RL (and DL in general) is about learning by practice. Tiny but steady local improvements, which build up excellent reflexes. This often gets stuck learning at the wrong level of abstraction. We learn by reflection and directed experimentation not just practice.

It'll be a bit subtle. Of course regulation will be centered in Beijing
But companies shaping it will be incorporated in Hangzhou. Alibaba, DeepSeek. The Qian playbook continues working. Make yourself so valuable you become the center of industrial gravity.

The reason this is getting attention is that it is presented as evidence of a particular position which is basically political: artists are “so cooked”, art as we’ve known it forever is over, typing “paint waves” into google is now indistinguishable from being an artist.
