Maybe the most delusional take I've seen this week and I read lots of China hawks and other wackos. On-device inference is niche until we change the hardware (eg compute-in-memory) and the very mode of interaction with AI. All big boy functions will remain reliant on the cloud.

You can criticize most ordinary things pretty fine actually, like me here talking about some of the infrastructure being rusty etc. Chinese also criticize it and it gets fixed, there's municipality phone numbers where you can report broken potholes etc. Regarding actual politics it's smart as a foreigner to stay the fuck out of it, which I think is common sense in most of Asia
