I could be wrong, but I suspect the reason why hotel clerks spend 10 mins typing something in while checking you in, even when you have booked online, is because nothing is integrated.

They are taking your booking details from booking dotcom or wherever, and re-typing them manually into some ancient IBM based system where all the data actually lives.

Not all hotels are like this, but it does seem to be a symptom of those major mid-luxury chains.

$5M to hire 20 people for a year, and it might take you a year to find them. Meanwhile, competitors are poaching your team, big tech is building a clone of your app, and you're spending all your time thinking about the next round of funding.

I'm much happier bootstrapping.

It’s also a great “talk about relationships” afterwards type movie. Lots of ice breaking content, to see if you’re on the same page.

Would recommend 👍

Can confirm. Took a date to dinner, then box seats at La La Land with an orchestra. Weeks later she said it was one of her best dates ever.

I do think La La Land did most of the heavy lifting tho. It’s a classic and she hadn’t seen it before.

Driving (or riding in my case) in Japan is a joy.

Excellent signposting. People are observant and use their signals. You rarely ever hear a horn. Everyone understands who has right of way. You even see people bowing to each other behind their windscreens.

Peak civilization.
